Teachers: Laurie Schley Senauke, Cynthia Cummins

Practice Center: Green Gulch Farm

Event Type: Workshops and Retreats

Free your creativity, spill words onto the page, and share your stories in an inspiring circle of supportive women.

Authentic, compelling writing comes from a place of emptiness. By simply showing up, listening, and writing what arises, we discover the ideas we need to bring to light, especially after the relative isolation and darkness of the last two-and-a-half years.

We calm the mind, then follow playful and provocative prompts to start our pens flowing. In timed exercises, we bypass our inner critics and write freely. Words appear. Memories surface. Tales emerge. We read them aloud and encourage one another to drop deeper and reach higher.

During our days together, we’ll move as a community—dining together and lodging at the Octagonal Guest House. A willingness to be quiet and to play is all that is required; no writing experience needed. Bring pen and paper but not your laptop. (If handwriting presents a challenge, please reach out to Cynthia or Laurie ahead of time.)

This retreat is trans- and non-binary-inclusive.
