When I’m Sixty-Four

A poem in process

When I’m Sixty-Four by Cynthia Cummins

when I’m sixty-four

that Beatles song

was once so far away

how many times have I stared

a million miles out a window?

those minutes threading together

through a lifetime

it’s always cold outside

my breath fogging the glass

*drafted 1.25.25 on my sweetheart’s 64th birthday
