“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, in the expert’s mind there are few.” ~ Shunryu Suzuki

Another treasured quote by Suzuki is “Enjoy your problems.” But how about forgetting them for one weekend? Come join Laurie Senauke and me at Green Gulch Farm as we lead a wild-heart writing workshop 3.30 to 4.1.

The Zen center/farm is less than an hour’s drive from San Francisco, but it may as well be a continent or a century away. That’s how restorative and serene the setting is.

We will write, and play. There will be time for meditation. And quiet walks in the gardens or down to Muir Beach. Nourishing meals. Privacy. Community.

An especially appealing aspect of this weekend is the opportunity to sleep (in a private or semi-private room) in GGF’s Lindisfarne Guest House, a two-story Japanese-style retreat house. With any luck, we will have the place all to ourselves. (And there will be a full moon that weekend, which adds an extra incentive for staying over.)

Space is very limited so click here for more details and to register. And tell your friends! (Note, due to some glitches with GGF website, you must register by telephone at 415.383.3134.)

I promise you a weekend of creative self discovery. As the wise teacher Deena Metzger writes, “…creativity and self-knowledge will seem like twin sisters, similar but distinct comrades who have a common origin.”

I lead writing and mindfulness workshops throughout the Bay Area.
