I wrote these haiku at a Wild Writing session I led last fall. The writing prompts were apples and fading sunflowers.


by my bedside

a juicy red ripe apple

no teethmarks yet


sticky stems in my hand

the blooms leaching life

too late not to pick them


Chinese produce stand

granny smith apples piled up

knock one off
