“Cynthia was like a high priestess.” ~ praise from Tassajara workshop participant

I’m really more of a low priestess: user-friendly, open and plain-speaking. I’ve been writing (or telling stories) since I was four years old.

With the help of wise teachers and a sloppy Buddhist practice, I’ve nurtured the capacity to help others awaken creativity and deepen self knowledge through writing.

I lead workshops in the Bay Area and beyond. Every Wild Heart Writing circle can be customized to suit participants’ needs and the approach is adaptable in many settings —

  • guiding beginning or seasoned writers to find the stories they need to tell
  • helping groups (family members, friends) honor an important life event
  • furthering people’s appreciation of their value and mission in the workplace
  • assisting a business team in articulating a shared vision

Besides writing, I have a thriving residential real estate practice in San Francisco. I’m the mother of two grown sons, the partner of an outdoorsy general contractor, and the avid pursuer of many pastimes, including being a true friend, exercising, hiking, dancing, cooking, reading, watching movies, writing songs, singing, and playing piano, guitar and (just barely) banjo.
